Taylor Swift y Ariana Grande son las dos artistas más nominadas a los VMAs 2019, organizados por la cadena especializada en videos MTV. Las dos estrellas pop compiten en 10 categorías donde le sigue Billie Eilish con 9 y Lil Nas X con 8.
Para este año, MTV en su afán de mantenerse vigente ha incluido dos nuevos premios: Mejor K-Pop y Video for God. A partir de esta semana, hasta el 15 de agosto, todos los fans pueden votar en la página de MTV y en las redes sociales.
Las sorpresas fueron la nula nominación a Post Malone y Khalid, pese a su éxito en los servicios de streaming, radio y las listas de Billboard. Lady Gaga y Bradley Cooper fueron nominados por su tema Shallow y el grupo BTS obtuvo 4 nominaciones. Aún no se conoce quién será el artista que recibirá el Video Vanguard Award.
Los VMAs se realizarán el 16 de agosto en el Prudential Center en Newark, Nueva Jersey y será conducido por el actor y comediante Sebastian Maniscalco.
