Según los fans de Selena Gómez, la letra de la canción es una clara alusión a su relación con Justin Bieber, convirtiendo “Lose you to love me” en un himno de amor a uno mismo.
Selena aprovechó para lanzar un sencillo video filmado en blanco y negro. Al parecer, este video forma parte de una colaboración con la marca Apple, pues fu filmado en iPhone.
